Let’s talk money 🤑

If you’re an online business owner who wants to grow a thriving, successful, 6-figure business, this is for you. 

After listening to this episode/reading this blog post, I want you to feel like you have the tools and knowledge to build the business of your dreams 💫

As you can imagine, there’s a lot to it (you can’t just get to six figures overnight!)- so this is just part 1. Make sure to check back this time next week for part 2 of the 6-figure roadmap!

You may have heard a lot of talk about 6-figure businesses. If your Instagram feed is like mine, it’s easy to believe that money grows on trees (at least in the online business world) and that everybody can earn ridiculous amounts of money easily. 

But if you’re thinking it’s all a con, that isn’t the truth either.

Maybe earning 6-figures isn’t really your goal and that’s totally fine of course, but my guess is that if you’re reading this, you’re at least curious.

This roadmap is based on my experience, and it doesn’t mean that this is the only way to success – there are a million different ways you can reach 6-figures in your business. 

I want you to trust your intuition, and create your own vision for what’s possible. 

#1 Your Vision

I’m not in business to become a millionaire. Do I want to be financially successful? Of course. But I didn’t start my business to make a fast buck. 

I started my business because I had a vision of being able to work for myself from anywhere, and I wanted to create something that would help other yoga teachers, and that I’d love to run. I wanted the freedom to make my own decisions, to travel, to be flexible with my schedule, and to look after myself, my dog, and my loved ones. 

Many of the women I speak to who run (or dream of running) their own businesses have similar motivations. They simply want to use their passions, talents, and experience to build something for themselves. They want to earn a living working on their terms and achieve a sustainable and rewarding lifestyle, whilst also helping other people. 

You deserve to be paid well, you can be ambitious and want to make more money and still serve people, heal them, or teach yoga. You’re allowed to do that – to live your life to the fullest, and to experience everything that’s amazing in our modern world.

And guess what – money helps with that.

There are many mindset blocks we could go into around money, but only you know deep down what your issues with money are (if you have them). I want to share the message that making more money isn’t a bad thing, it’s possible for you too and I want you to get clear on your vision of where you want to go.

#2 Having A Clear Niche

You need to have a niche if you want to be successful, it’s as simple as that. It’s now more important than ever before.

It’s amazing that we have the internet and more people than ever are looking online to learn things, to shop, to socialize, for everything really. But this means there’s also a lot more noise – a lot more competition. If you want to stand out, you need to be specific and really clear on what you do, who you help, and what problem you solve.

This is where building an online business is very different from building a traditional brick-and-mortar business. For example, if you’re a yoga teacher in a small town, that’s already your niche. You don’t need to niche down further, and you can offer all styles of yoga for all kinds of people in that town. 

When you’re building an online business, the whole internet is your audience! The problem is, people online have the attention spans of fruit flies and they are looking for expert solutions to their problems.

So the secret to niching down successfully – to choosing a profitable niche – is knowing who you work with and what problem you solve. This is a business decision. It’s not negotiable, you need to niche down.

Here’s another example;

You’re a vegan and you want to create a blog with vegan recipes. As much as this may have worked a few years ago, there are now thousands of vegans and thousands of people on the internet providing vegan recipes. 

So, today if you want people’s attention, you need to go further and get really specific. For example, you could choose to blog about healthy & vegan Vietnamese recipes. Or vegan recipes to help you lose weight in midlife.

This is then what you share because you can be really specific about who you’re talking to, you can rank for specific keywords, and you can stand out from the crowd.

#3 Your Brand & Brand Message

If you’re wanting to grow to six figures in your business, you need to have a website, a brand, and a solid brand message

Now, this doesn’t mean that you need to hire an expensive designer or pay the big bucks for all of your brand elements. You can use tools such as Canva for your logo and brand elements, and then you can use templates for your website which makes it really easy to customize yourself. I personally recommend WordPress and Showit. 

The website platform isn’t what matters though – what matters is your brand message which is everything that you put out there that people will associate with your brand. Think colors, your copy, your headline, how you describe what you do, and how people feel when they come in contact with your brand. 

Your brand message should be clear, concise, and authentic. It should tell your clients who you are, what you stand for, and what they can expect from you. It should be reflected in everything you do, from your website and social media profiles to your teaching style and the classes you offer.

So, why is a strong brand message so important? Well, for one thing, as I said it helps you stand out in a crowded market. If you don’t have a strong brand message, you risk getting lost in the noise.

But more importantly, a strong brand message helps you connect with your ideal clients. When your message resonates with someone on a deeper level, they are more likely to become loyal followers and advocates for your business.

So, if you’re a yoga teacher, healer, or coach and you haven’t yet developed a strong brand message, now is the time to do it. Think about what makes you unique as a teacher, what values you hold dear, and what you want your clients or students to feel when they work with you. Then, craft a message that reflects those things and start incorporating it into everything you do.

Remember, your brand message is not just a tagline or your Instagram bio. It’s the story of who you are and why you do what you do.
