I'm Susanne!

hey there

Every year I do a survey with my audience, and one thing that comes up again and again is that a lot of yoga teachers feel stuck at making around €2,000, €3,000, maybe €4,000 a month. And they’ve already embraced online. They want to build an online business. Maybe they have a membership, or they’re selling a small online course, they offer workshops and retreats, but it all doesn’t really add up yet.

And let’s be honest, making €2,000 or €3,000 a month isn’t sustainable, especially if you’re putting in full-time effort.

But here’s what I also hear from these teachers. They know there’s more possible. We have opportunities today to build something online, a completely new business model, that simply didn’t exist like ten years ago. Back then, as a yoga teacher, you probably made the most money when you offered yoga teacher trainings. That was pretty much the only way to scale beyond trading hours for money.

Now we have so many more options. And yet, most teachers are still stuck in that €2,000 to €4,000 range, working hard but not seeing their income grow the way they want it to.

This is the first in a three-part series where I’m walking through what actually has to shift when you’re scaling your online yoga business to consistent €10K months. Today we’re starting with the first two shifts: brand positioning and your offer suite.

The myth about scaling

The myth is that scaling is about adding more. More platforms, more tactics, more visibility, more content. That if you just show up consistently enough and get your work in front of enough people, the money will follow.

And I’m not saying those things don’t matter. They do. But they’re not the thing that creates the shift.

The reality is that the gap between where you are now and €10K months is strategic, not tactical. It’s about clarity, structure, and positioning. It’s about becoming known for something specific instead of being helpful in a general way. It’s about having offers that work together instead of a collection of random things you’ve created over time.

When I look at the teachers who’ve made this shift successfully, it’s almost never because they suddenly got more followers or figured out the perfect Instagram strategy. It’s because something fundamental changed in how they were thinking about their business and how they were presenting their work to the world.

Shift one: Brand positioning

When you’re making €2,000 or €3,000 a month, you can be a yoga teacher who helps people. You can offer general support, hold space, be warm and present and skilled at what you do. And that can work for a while, especially if you’re relying mostly on word of mouth or teaching some in-person classes alongside your online work.

But to get to €10K months, you need to be known for something specific. People need to immediately understand what makes you different and why they should choose you over the other forty-seven yoga teachers they could work with instead.

My own experience with niching down

I chose my niche, yoga teachers, back in 2015. I was a yoga teacher myself at the time, and I also had a background in digital marketing. I started helping my yoga teacher friends with their marketing and websites, and honestly, it happened pretty organically. I wasn’t trying to build a business around it at first. It just made sense.

But over time, I started feeling restricted by that niche. I thought I needed to rebrand and say I work with spiritual entrepreneurs or heart-led entrepreneurs. Those terms felt more expansive, more inclusive. But they’re also wishy-washy. And you know what happened? I put myself in direct competition with thousands of business coaches using those exact same terms.

So I very consciously made the decision to call out yoga teachers specifically in my marketing. Does what I teach also work for other professions? Of course. But I use examples from the yoga world. I know what yoga teachers struggle with. I know what potential there is. And honestly, I love working with yoga teachers. I have the nicest clients anybody could have.

There might come a time where I outgrow my niche, but I’m far from there yet.

What clarity actually does for your business

What I learned through that experience is that clarity doesn’t limit you. It actually gives you a much stronger foundation to stand on. When you’re clear about who you serve, the right people find you so much more easily. And the people who aren’t a fit for your work will move on naturally, which is actually good for everyone.

The teachers I know who are consistently making €10K months or more are not generalists. They’re known for something. And that something doesn’t have to be narrow or limiting. It just has to be clear enough that when someone lands on your website or your Instagram or hears you speak, they can immediately think, “Yes, this is what I need.”

Maybe you work with teachers who are burned out and need to reconnect with why they started teaching in the first place. Maybe you help yoga students who’ve been practicing for years but still don’t feel confident teaching. Maybe you support women in perimenopause who are dealing with symptoms their doctor isn’t addressing and want to feel at home in their bodies again.

Whatever it is, you need to be able to say it clearly. Not “anyone who wants to feel better.” Not “women who love yoga.” Something real and grounded that a specific person can recognize themselves in.

Shift two: Your offer suite

When you’re making €2,000 or €3,000 a month, you might have one offer, or you might have a bunch of random things that don’t really connect to each other. Maybe you’re teaching drop-in classes, running a small membership, offering one-on-one sessions, and occasionally doing a workshop when you feel inspired. None of it is wrong, but it’s also not strategic.

To get to €10K months, you need a suite of offers that actually work together. A clear path from entry point to premium offer that makes sense to you and to your audience.

Why I focus on a high-ticket signature program

I want to share something about my own business that might be helpful here.

I had a six-figure year selling just one offer. A high-ticket group program. And I was traveling all over Europe in my campervan while doing it, working maybe four hours a day. That offer, the Blissful Biz Academy, is still my main offer. It’s my signature program.

I’m sharing this not to brag, but because I think it’s important to understand something. You can’t build a six-figure business with low-priced online courses and a low-priced membership, unless you have a really big audience and probably also invest heavily in ads. If you want to do that, that’s great. But it’s not where I would start.

What I would focus on first is building one really solid mid to high-ticket offer. Something where you’re working closely with people, guiding them through a real transformation, and charging what that level of support is actually worth. For most yoga teachers, that’s going to be a group program or one-on-one work.

How a simple offer suite actually works

This doesn’t mean you can’t have other things. In fact, I think a small digital offer priced around €27 or €37 is a really smart entry point. It solves one specific problem, gives someone a quick win, and builds trust. It shows people how you teach and creates a relationship with someone who’s ready to invest but isn’t ready for something bigger yet.

But that small offer isn’t meant to be your main income source. It’s meant to be a bridge. Someone buys your €37 offer, they go through it, they get a result, and then they think, “Okay, I actually want more support with this. What else is available?” That’s when your signature program makes sense. Not as the first step, but as the natural next step for people who already know they want to keep working with you.

So your offer suite might look something like this. You have that small digital offer as your entry point. Then you have your signature program, your main offer, where people get the deeper support and transformation they’re looking for. And maybe, if it makes sense for your business, you have a premium option like one-on-one coaching for people who want even more personalized support.

Each step builds on the one before it. And most importantly, each offer is designed for a specific person at a specific stage. You’re not trying to sell your high-ticket program to someone who just found you yesterday. You’re guiding them through a journey that makes sense for where they are.

Where to start

Both of these shifts, positioning and offer suite, can feel like a lot if you’re currently doing things differently. If your positioning is still broad, or if your offers are all over the place, it can feel overwhelming to think about changing everything at once.

But you don’t have to burn everything down and start over. What you’re doing now isn’t wrong. It’s just that to get to that next level, some things need to get more intentional.

Start by getting clearer on your positioning. Who are you really for? What do people come to you for? What are you actually known for, or what do you want to be known for? Those questions don’t need perfect answers right away, but they’re worth sitting with.

And then look at your offers and ask yourself, do these work together? Is there a clear path from one to the next? Or are you just hoping people will figure it out on their own?

Sometimes the shift is as simple as retiring one or two offers that aren’t really serving anyone and focusing your energy on the ones that are. Sometimes it’s about creating one missing piece that connects everything else. And sometimes it’s just about getting clearer on how you talk about what you already have.

You don’t need to get this perfect before you can move forward. But you do need to know what you’re building toward.

Coming up in part two

In part 2 I’m covering the two shifts that actually get people to buy: your messaging and your sales process. Because you can have the clearest positioning and the best offer suite in the world, but if you’re not communicating in a way that sells, or if you don’t have a system that consistently enrolls clients, you’re still going to feel stuck.

If you’re feeling stuck, like whatever you do nothing really moves the needle, and you’re ready for strategic support, apply for the Blissful Biz Mastermind. It’s a six-month high-touch coaching experience for yoga teachers who are ready to scale their online business beyond where they are now. You can learn more and apply here.
