My New Evergreen Funnel – How I Set it Up, How it’s Working

I’m thrilled to dive deep into a topic that’s been generating a lot of excitement in my business lately: my new evergreen funnel. This post will walk you through how I set it up, the results I’m seeing, and the valuable insights I’ve gained along the way.

I was flying back from Hamburg to Mallorca. After arriving home and checking my emails, I was ecstatic to find three sales notifications in my inbox from my evergreen funnel. That’s $260 in revenue, without me doing anything! It’s moments like these that make all the hard work of building an online business worthwhile.

If you’ve created online courses or digital products, you might relate to this scenario: You’ve launched them, they’re living on your website, but… nobody’s buying. Or perhaps you’ve tried setting up a funnel with one of those funnel builder tools, complete with fake timers, and it all felt super complicated, overly technical, and a bit icky.

The truth is, just hoping that people will buy because your offer is great unfortunately doesn’t work. You need a different approach – a funnel that makes it easy to buy while staying aligned with your values.

My Evergreen Funnel Structure: A Detailed Breakdown

Let me walk you through what this looks like in my business. A few weeks ago, I decided to create a new low-ticket offer: the Client Magnetism Content Kit. It’s a 12-week, plug-and-play content plan designed to boost engagement, grow your audience, and help you sign more clients.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of each step in my evergreen funnel:

1. The Entry Point: Client Magnetism Content Kit

   – A good-looking short sales page that showcases the value of this offer

   – Regular price: $97

   – Special offer price: $37

   – Clear communication that this is a limited-time offer to create urgency

2. The Order Bump: AI Content Training

   – Offered at checkout for an additional $22

   – Perfectly aligned with what they’re already buying

   – No separate sales page, just a very short description

   – Works well because it’s a logical add-on to the main purchase

3. The Upsell: FLOW

   – Offered on the thank you page after purchase

   – Regular price: $499

   – Special offer price for new customers: $199

   – A more comprehensive program that dives deep into content creation and strategy

After the purchase, customers are added to an email sequence where I follow up with the next step offer:

If someone bought just the low ticket offer, I send them emails with a special offer to enroll in FLOW.

If someone bought FLOW, I follow up with a special offer to join the Blissful Biz Academy.

The Benefits of This Funnel Structure

This setup accomplishes two important things:

1. Each offer naturally leads to the next, creating a seamless customer journey.

2. It maximizes the value of each customer interaction.

The beauty of this system is its simplicity and alignment. There are no fake scarcity tactics or complicated tech setups. It’s just a clear path for customers who are interested in what you have to offer.

Technical Considerations

While the concept is simple, you do need some specific tech capabilities. You need a checkout tool that has features like adding an order bump or an upsell. I use Teachable for this, but other popular options include Thrivecart and Samcart. I’m considering switching to one of those in the future as I move away from Teachable to Skool for hosting my courses and community.

Overcoming Mindset Blocks

Setting up this funnel wasn’t without challenges. The biggest obstacle for many, including myself, is mindset. I felt significant resistance to setting up the order bump and the upsell after creating my low-ticket offer. 

But I’m so glad I pushed through. If I had stopped at just that offer, and at sending just one or two emails to my list and then calling it a day, I would have missed out on revenue and on serving my clients better.

Creating offers is fun and feels safe. Selling, for most of us, doesn’t always feel good, and there’s often resistance. But it gets easier with practice. I’ve learned to put these tasks on my to-do list and just do them, no excuses.

Connect with your vision, and just sit down and do it. Take it one step at a time, and keep refining your approach. Before you know it, you’ll have a funnel that works effectively and truly serves your audience.

Here’s an Example for a Funnel as a Yoga Teacher

To illustrate how this funnel concept can work in various niches, let’s consider an example of a yoga teacher specializing in helping people with chronic pain:

1. Entry Point: “21-Day Gentle Yoga for Chronic Pain Relief” Program ($47)

   – Daily 15-minute gentle yoga video sessions

   – Downloadable pose guides with modifications for different pain conditions

   – A pain management journal template

   – Access to a private community for support

2. Order Bump: “Mindfulness Meditation for Pain Management” Audio Series ($17)

   – Complements the yoga practice perfectly

   – Provides another powerful tool for pain relief

3. Upsell: “Yoga Therapy for Chronic Pain” Online Course

   – Comprehensive online yoga therapy course

   – Regular price: $497

   – Special offer for new customers: $297

This structure follows the same principles as my funnel, providing value at multiple levels and serving clients at different stages of their journey.

Next Steps

It’s exciting to see the funnel working, even in its early stages. My next step is to invest in paid ads to drive more traffic and scale the results.

If you’re feeling inspired to create your own evergreen funnel, I encourage you to start small. Don’t feel like you need to have everything perfect from day one. Start with your core offer, then gradually add the additional elements as you get more comfortable with the process.

Remember, creating an effective evergreen funnel isn’t about tricks or manipulation. It’s about understanding your audience, providing genuine value, and making it easy for people to say yes to your offers. When done right, it creates a win-win situation where your business grows and your customers get the help they need.
